By 1994 the line up and style of The Hirundu had changed dramatically, although they still maintained an unconventional sound. Uneasy Listening contains 13 tunes best described as 'No - Fi Guitar Ambiance': sparse, minimalist droning monotones with plenty of wha wha. The influences on this album where the Velvet Underground, Spaceman 3 and Mercury Rev - sort of laid back shoe-gazing - 'Spitfire' is nearly thirteen minutes long! The recordings where the result of collaborations with Johns long time friend Shaun Ellwood
